“Who designed the label?”
It’s a question we get asked often. One of my favorite graphic designers did. His name is Stanley Chow.
I discovered him by way of 4-4-2 Magazine (an English publication about football, er, soccer). As well as commissions and mag art, he does portraits inhis spare time and used to sell them at his print shop. I ordered several prints including Stevie Wonder, a chicken for my chicken-loving aunt, a Brazilian beachgoer… and so forth.
After mutual follows on instagram and an occasional Draw Something rivalry, I politely reached out to him to see if he’d be interested in designing the label for an upstart Limoncello company in New Orleans.
He used old photos of Nonna Yvelise to create our iconic label and logo. We are so grateful for his contribution and our working collaboration. His style (especially specific the one he lent to us) captures both the the spirit of Nonna and of our little company. Please take a moment to watch this video that Nightlight Productions made of him and check out his website.
